in Hazardous Materials

Ensure your workplace remediation is completed safely.

There are millions of homes and workplaces built prior to 1997 most of which contain high lead paint levels.

HazSure are professionals in lead paint identification and testing. Our testing and assessments are in accordance with the Australian Standard - AS4361, where each sample is analysed for its lead content and weight.

Lead in paint becomes a problem when it is damaged or disturbed. It can be hazardous if it is in areas where it can be easily damaged or chipped. Lead is toxic to humans, even in small amounts, and can be absorbed from ingesting contaminated products or from breathing air containing lead dust.

Lead paint is most likely to be found on surfaces where enamel paints are generally used, including:

  • Window frames

  • Doors

  • Skirting boards

  • Exterior walls

  • Guttering

  • Metal surfaces

  • Fascias

Paint removal by blasting, burning, dry scraping, dry sanding and using power tools creates dangers due to particles generated are small enough to be inhaled and absorbed into the body.
